The chips called SE8A and MM101 are PD controllers designed to further enhance the communication between the charger and the device, making the power supply more efficient and faster, without neglecting the safety of this process.

These new products will be used in various devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and monitors, making all equipment models have different optimizations. In addition, the chips will support firmware upgrades to adapt to additional technology futures in the handset's battery.

"In addition to smarter features and larger batteries, innovative charging solutions allow us to do more through our mobile devices today. Following this trend, power adapters that can quickly load devices while establishing safeguards against unauthorized access are increasingly in demand. Samsung's power-enhancing MM101 and security-enhanced SE8A will not only make charging faster and safer, but will also enable new services that can enrich tomorrow's mobile experiences, "said Ben K. Hur, senior vice president of System LSI at Samsung Electronics."

The SE8A supports USB-C authentication, allowing the use to have special authorization and contain optimized security to prevent unauthorized products from attempting to use it. Currently the chip is already being produced in large quantities to meet the market demand, but the MM101 is still to meet a small sampling.
